Brann Celebrate After Thriller in Limassol

Norwegian side Brann have booked their place in the Conference League play-off round after an incredibly dramatic return leg against Apollon Limassol. The Norwegians had lost the first leg at home 0-1, but turned things around with a 2-1 win away in Cyprus, before completing yet another twist in extra time to advance 4-3 on aggregate.

Former Lokomotiv Plovdiv forward Alen Ožbolt, who had scored the winner for Apollon a week earlier, led the line for the Cypriot side once again. The hosts were the better team before the break, but Brann struck first through Kristal Mani Ingason to take the lead.

Ivan Ljubić equalized for Apollon in the 86th minute, only for Brann substitute Noah Holm to restore their lead deep into stoppage time and force extra time. Gaëtan Weissbeck then leveled things up again in the 92nd minute — a goal that, at that point, would have been enough to send Apollon through. But Holm struck for a second time soon after, before Christian Eriksen settled the tie for good in the 105th minute.
