Georgian Champions Advance in Europa League

Georgian champions Iberia 1999 booked their place in the Europa League play-off round after eliminating Northern Ireland's Larne following extra time. The first leg finished goalless, and the return match ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, before Nika Sikharulashvili emerged as the hero for the home side in the additional 30 minutes.

Iberia 1999 dominated for long spells but struggled to convert their chances against a stubborn Larne defense. The breakthrough finally came in the 74th minute through Vakho Bedoshvili, only for James Simpson to level things up for the visitors just two minutes later.

Undeterred, Iberia 1999 kept pressing in extra time, and their persistence paid off in the 102nd minute when Sikharulashvili converted an assist from Nikoloz Dadiani to make it 2-1 and seal their passage through.

The Georgian side will face the winner of the Jagiellonia-Rangers tie in the next round.
